Hebel’s interesting and colourful history is brought to life through the public art piece, the Hebel Historical Circle. The town of Hebel its self feels like time has stood still. It’s home to tales of the Ned Kelly gang, Cobb & Co and old-time dance halls.
Planted in the dusty red earth of this quintessential country town of the Balonne Shire are 10 timber posts. These posts each tell their town story of the town’s history. While there, learn about the infamous Kelly’s Point, Cobb & Co, border customs and local Aboriginal sporting stars.
A playground is adjacent to the Hebel Historical Circle to keep the kids content while you learn more about Hebel’s history.
