1.  Best practice listing guidelines

Follow this guide to ensure each listing is optimised. Check out https://queenslandsouthernoutback.com.au/places/eromanga-natural-history-museum/ for a best practice example.

Product/Business Listings need to include:

  • Several clear, appropriate, high-quality images (please refer to Image Specifications for further information)
  • Correct, up-to-date contact details (e.g. email address, address, phone number, social media, website)
  • Titles to break up content and help readers find what they are looking for
  • Minimum 300 words
  • External links (e.g. to your website or product listing)
  • Videos (if possible)

2. Create a listing on QSO

  1. If you have a website account with us, please log in (or register first). (Forgot Your Password?)
  2. Visit the Add New Listing Page.
  3. Enter all the required information.
  4. Select ‘Submit Listing’ at the bottom of the page.
  5. On the Billing page, you will need to add in your details and contact your TDO for the coupon code
  6. The coupon code will allow you to create the listing for free
  7. Check your inbox for further information about claiming the listing and creating an account.

Tips:

  • The first section requires you to enter YOUR details. These details will be used to create your account, so make sure you have access to the email address you provide.
  • Place Description. A minimum of 300 words is recommended for this section. Follow Best Practice Listing Guidelines for further instructions.
  • Select as many relevant tags and categories as possible. Look through them all.
  • Business Hours. Make sure this matches the hours listed on Google my Business. It is important to update these hours regularly and reflect recent changes.
    • To edit business hours press the ‘ + ‘ or ‘ – ‘ button.
    • If you open between 10-2 pm and 4-11 pm on Mondays, press the ‘ + ‘ button to add several selected business hours. If you do not open on Mondays, press the ‘ – ‘ button.
  • Make sure to select a nice, high-quality branded photo or a photo that best represents your event. Your first image will be the banner image that is used throughout the website. You can drag around the images to get them in the right order.
  • Once you put your address in, click ‘Set Address on Map’
  • Mark listing as claimed. This will allow you to edit the listing once you have created an account.
  • Preview Listing. This is a great opportunity to view what you have created so far. Make sure all the information is accurate if not, you can go back and edit.
  • To view your listing, you can search for it in the menu bar at the top of the website.
  • Visit here to Edit your Listing.

 

3. Create an account with QSO

You will need to create an account with us if you wish to do any of the following:

  • List or claim your business
  • List your event

If you already have an account with us, please log in. (Forget Your Password?).

  1. To create an account, visit the registration page.
  2. Enter your account details
  3. Select ‘Create An Account’.
  4. If successful, a green box will appear above the registration form saying ‘Account registered successfully. Please login here’.
  5. Login with your new account details.

 

4. Claim a business listing

You will need to claim your listing(s) in order to update and edit it.

  1. Register an account or log in to your account. (Forgot Your Password?)
  2. Once logged in, search for your listing(s) here.
  3. Press ‘Claim Listing’ on the right-hand side of the page (under address).
    1. If you are not logged in, you will be redirected to a login page. Login in if you have an account with us.
    2. If you do not have an account, follow the steps above and create an account.
  4. Once you have logged in, fill out your contact information.

 

5. Create a new event listing

Anyone can add an event listing. You just need a free website account to create the event.

QSO reserves the right to delete inappropriate events.

  1. If you have a website account with us, please log in (or register first). (Forgot Your Password?)
  2. Visit the Add New Event page.
  3. Enter in all the required information
  4. Select ‘Submit Listing’ at the very bottom of the page.
  5. On the Billing page, you will need to add in your details and contact your TDO for the coupon code
  6. Search here for your event

Tips:

  • Fill out as much information as possible about your event
  • Make sure to select a nice, high-quality branded photo or a photo that best represents your event. Your first image will be the banner image that is used throughout the website. You can drag around the images to get them in the right order. (the image needs to be under 1mb)
  • Be sure to add your website or social media links to help generate website traffic.

 

6. Edit your Listing and Event

  1. Visit the login page and login with your account
  2. Login in with your account details. If you have forgotten your password, reset it here.
  3. Under account dashboard, click the listing/event you wish to edit, click edit

  5. Make your changes and save.

8. Image Specifications

  • Images need to be high-quality (preferably not from an iPhone)
  • Up to date
  • Landscape (please do not include any images that are portrait)
  • If you have larger images (width exceeding 2000 pixels) they would be perfect for hero images (like you see at the top of each explore page and, on the homepage,)
  • Each image needs to be less than 200KB in size (max 600KB for all images on the page. For example, if you have 4 images, each image needs to be a maximum 150KB in size)
  • Need to be 800 x 600 (width x height)
